Learning French Review - Laughing At French Jokes Explained!

I hope you had a chance to read the last post and laughed at the joke! In case you read it and didn't understand it, this is the explanation:

"Oscar: When I die, I want to be cremated.
Matilde: It sounds just like you, every time you leave, you leave ashes all over the place."

Pretty funny isn't it? I am going to leave you with another joke, this time a bit longer. See if you understand it!

I'll give you the translation next time!

Learning French Review - What Is In The News?

Now that it is Saturday and we are firmly into the weekend, let's see what is making the news lately! Looks like the movie "The Incredible Hulk" or in French "L'incroyable Hulk" is making it big at the movie theaters.

In other news, from The Associated Press "President George W. Bush, informed of Russert's death while at dinner in Paris, swiftly issued a statement of condolence that praised the NBC newsman as an institution in both news and politics for more than two decades."

Well it looks like President Bush was in Paris, France for business and likely brushing up on his french as well...

New words for today:
Weekend is: fin de semaine
Going to the movies: aller au cinema or aller voir un film

One more thing, I am going to leave you with a little sound bite. See if you can understand what it says! I'll give you the english translation in the next blog.
